THREE MONTH SCHEDULE
Three malama (month) schedule begins the week of February 24th and ends the week of May 11th. Each malama there will be four Online classes using zoom / One in person hui on O‘ahu. This means a total of 12 online classes and three in person hui. Dates are listed below:
Three Unique classes to choose from:
1. NĀ KAULANA MAHINA • MAHINA CYCLE TIMING / Mondays, 7 to 8:30pm, starting February 24th
2. KILO-BASED TRADITIONAL YEAR (ADVANCED) / Tuesdays, 7 to 8:30pm, starting February 25th
3. MAHINA WELLNESS CYCLE / Wednesdays, 7 to 8:30pm, starting February 26th
PAPA 1: NĀ KAULANA MAHINA • MAHINA CYCLE TIMING / Mondays 7 to 8:30pm
Beginner/Intermediate. Overview of Nā Kaulana Mahina (lunar cycle). Emphasis will be on kilo practice. Exploring inoa Mahina (moon names). Understanding difference between modern/Gregorian calendar timing and Mahina timing.

PAPA 2: KILO-BASED TRADITIONAL YEAR (ADVANCED) / Tuesdays 7 to 8:30pm
A kilo-based, in-depth look at the traditional year. The traditional "calendar" is a non-Gregorian, kilo based-timing system that is still seen today. There were no "months"/ dates / hours or years that began on January 1st. What could be seen through kilo is still happening today. This class requires a working understanding of the malama (lunar) cycle.
We will focus on kilo timing of Makali‘i & Manaiakalani (Māuiʻs Fishhook) / Solstices & Equinoxes / as well as the 12 malama (354 day) cycle.

PAPA 3: MAHINA WELLNESS CYCLE / Wednesdays 7 to 8:30pm
Discovering, understanding and implementing your personal Mahina wellness cycle. Navigating our modern environment with intentional focus on Mahina cycle timing. We will focus on:
E kū e ola. Standing in a state of wellness. Finding internal balance in relationships and family dynamics that are generational patterns. Developing an activity planner that focuses on self-Inventory, healing, releasing and strengthening.

Papa/classes are designed to be a comfortable learning environment. We will be using the Zoom online Meeting app. You will need reliable internet connection. To encourage a comfortable learning environment classes will not be recorded. Class series is similar to Instagram daily posts. The focus will be on developing the practice of KILO. This means that you will be given tools to assist you in your journey into the practice of KILO. Either 2020 or 2019-2020 Kilo Mahina Planner required. You may order planner here.
If interested, please register as soon as possible. There is a limit of 10 people per class and we may need to be flexible to accommodate everyone. Enrollment via PayPal or Venmo after a few days of registration. Reciprocity is $110 per month (or $300 per series). Payments accepted through Venmo @homaikapono and Paypal. 10% of reciprocity will go to Nā Leo Pūlama o Maui Fundraiser & other ‘Āina-based programs.
While hui are definitely open to all, the hui are most applicable to people with ‘ohana ties and involvement in community revitalization within the islands of Hawai‘i. If hui become over booked this will be an enrollment factor.
